Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in California—she’s from Maringá, Brazil and I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana. She came to the U.S. for a skate championship while I was living in California. We matched on a dating app and instantly clicked. We faced a few struggles, but eventually vowed our love in Las Vegas. Since then, we adopted a puppy, moved to New Orleans, had our official wedding there with my family, traveled to Brazil to meet hers, and now we’re building our life together in Tampa. And it feels like home.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our month in Brazil was unforgettable. In Rio de Janeiro we saw Christ the Redeemer, explored the city, and had incredible days on Copacabana beach. In Natal, we spent time on the beaches, went dune buggy riding through the sand dunes, and enjoyed shopping and sunsets. In her home state, I met her family, saw monkeys in the wild, and experienced where she grew up. In São Paulo we admired the architecture, skateboarded, and spent time with friends. Every stop felt like a dream come true.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20k, we’d focus on building our life together. We’d set aside part for savings and stability, use some to invest in our future goals, and keep a cushion for emergencies. We’d likely plan a meaningful trip or experience together, maybe back to Brazil or somewhere new. We’d also put money toward improving our home in Tampa and spoiling our puppies a little. The rest would go into strengthening our foundation and future dreams together.
