When Ginuwine’s Differences played at our seventh-grade dance, Dennis asked me to dance. That moment was the beginning of our story, and we’ve been in love ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?I studied abroad in London during college. While I was away, Dennis planted a pine tree in his parents’ yard and decorated it with ornaments featuring photos of us and song lyrics that meant something to our relationship. Even when he isn’t trying to be romantic, he somehow always is. When he proposed, saying yes was the easiest answer I’ve ever given.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, we would pay down a portion of our student loans and finally celebrate our love with the vow renewal we’ve dreamed about for our 15th wedding anniversary. A year ago, Dennis was diagnosed with cancer, and there was a time we didn’t know if he’d be here to celebrate this milestone with me. Thankfully, he is. Every day together is a gift, and I wouldn’t trade a single one.
