My husband and I met at Fort Stewart, GA, in 2021. What began as a simple ‘hello’ turned into something neither of us expected. The night before my deployment, we went out with friends. That same night, we kissed to the song "Late at Night," and he promised he wasn’t going anywhere. The next day, I became seriously ill and had to stay behind. He cared for me every step of the way. Through deployments, setbacks, and God’s timing, one day grew into five years together and two years of marriage.

One of our favorite memories as a couple was praying together in October 2025, asking God for a healthy baby and specifically praying for a baby girl. Four months later, we found out we were expecting exactly that. We were overwhelmed with joy, unable to stop screaming and celebrating. Now, I’m eight months pregnant with our daughter, due in July, and we couldn’t be more thankful for this final addition to our family of five.

We will use the $20,000 to start a veteran-owned business that helps service members during PCS moves, deployments, and other major transitions. As veterans, we know firsthand how stressful it can be to find safe, reliable housing in a new place. Our goal is to offer housing solutions that ease that burden, so Soldiers and their families can focus on their mission, health, and future with more peace of mind.
