How did your love story begin?

I was the new girl in the neighborhood and he was the cute boy around the corner. I had a major crush and we had a first kiss, but nothing came of it for years. There was always something between us, though. His sister became my childhood best friend. His mom was a second mother and an important part of my childhood. We spent many years in each other's lives as good friends until I joined the military. I was gone for 12 years before moving home. We reconnected a few years later.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Getting married at our mountain home. We live mostly off grid and have a beautiful lot in the Monte Cristo mountains. Our relationship started growing at my family cabin in the mountains and we quickly realized we could live like that forever. It was a goal to eventually get married at our shared home, before even finding the home we purchased. The mountains are our favorite place and he is my favorite person. Our wedding day was so beautiful and imperfectly perfect.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would help my husband start his business we have been working towards establishing. We both come from very humble beginnings and have worked hard for the life we are so fortunate to live. We both work full time and have busy lives. Having seed money to jumpstart his business would allow him to focus on the business instead of his 9-5. He is the smartest, most talented man I know. He will do amazing once launched.
