We have a unique story. We’ve experienced some amazing times, and some difficult ones. We are still working at this 21 years of marriage.
We would like to thank you for supporting Hernandez Castsnos Haack in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I met Robert in 1999 while I was teaching abroad in Mexico. A fellow teacher invited me over to her house to have dinner. Afterwards, her son Robert started inviting me on weekends to tour the city he grew up in, Puebla Mexico. We took long Sunday drives and ate delicious traditional food from the region. I always only thought as him as a friend. Then I realized that no one had ever treated me the way he did. We married in 2005 in St. Thomas, VI with a small group of friends and family.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory is witnessing the first time my son saw the ocean. We had just checked in the hotel and made our way up to our room. The curtains were drawn closed as the afternoon sun was at its strongest. As I opened them, my son, barely 2 ran over to the glass doors using whatever sounds he could . It was pure joy and awe seeing this huge blue ocean. It was the most precious moment of both of our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000 we would happily renovate our main bathroom and also take a trip together that is way overdue.
