Connect How did your love story begin?

A mutual friend introduced us while Eric was performing the traditional Native American Hoop Dance at the Gene Autry Museum in Los Angeles during the annual Indian Market. We connected via social media and after 3 months of scoping out each other's socials. Eric asked (me) Pyet on a date. Our first date was with friends sailing off the cost of Los Angeles followed by Pho.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We had 2 weeks of road trip travels across the nation, during that trip Eric proposed in Pyet's grandmother's home in Oklahoma. After that stop we drove to Aspen to attend a Latino culture celebration event and then drove to Santa Fe, NM for Indian Market. It was 2 weeks full of celebration with our friends and community while road tripping through beautiful scenery. We stopped along the way to have good meals and watch the most beautiful sunsets. We also visited Tennessee and Alabama!

What would you do with $20,000?

We just got married so part of this money would go towards a honeymoon fund. The rest would go towards a non-profit organization we are starting. We plan to open a cultural space in Los Angeles where urban Natives and the public can eat traditional Native American food and attend cultural workshops preserving the traditional arts of Indigenous culture. We strive to inspire lasting recognition, opportunity, and cultural pride for Indigenous communities while shaping a more inclusive future.
