We met in 2004 when his family moved to my hometown. I was two, he was eleven, and he was best friends with my oldest brother. I always had a girlhood crush on him, but his family moved away a few years later. Adam is a veteran of the Marine Corps and in summer of 2025, I was volunteering with local veterans in our town. We reconnected last fall through my veterans work, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. My childhood dream came true!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our first date. We met downtown at a local restaurant and it was staged as a “casual business dinner,” but deep down, we both knew there was something more. He walked in the door and his first words to me were “ Hey Gracie.” That’s what he always called me as a little girl, and I’ve never liked anyone calling me that but him. From that interaction, I knew Adam was as special to me now as he was 18 years ago when we last saw each other. And now, I meant the same to him.
What would you do with $20,000?We are hoping to get married next July, so we would use this money for our wedding and honeymoon. Neither of us ever wanted a wedding until we met each other, but our story is special to us, and we want all of our friends and family there to celebrate together. For our honeymoon, we’d like to roadtrip on the east coast, somewhere neither of us have ever been!
