Our love story began on Facebook dating. I was meant to go back to Canada, but Gio and I matched. It took him 3 weeks to get me to go on a date with him as I knew I had to head home soon and didn’t want to get involved with anyone. But I caved and we finally went on our first date. From that night forward, we were inseparable. We got engaged less than 2 months later and married 5 days after our engagement.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favourite memory is definitely our wedding day. We got married on the beach. It was very small and quick, but it was so perfect. Neither of us expected to meet our soulmate, let alone for it to happen so fast, so we were over the moon with joy.
What would you do with $20,000?We are really starting our lives over from scratch. Back home I lost everything. Covid affected my business quite badly and from there it was one thing after another… losing a commercial space, my father passing from cancer, an abusive relationship, and an infestation of my new space that caused me to close down after 14 years in business. We would use the $20,000 to invest in reopening the business as well as starting a non profit to give back to the community.
