How did your love story begin?

We've always said our story feels like a Hallmark movie brought to life. Twenty-three years ago, at Walla Walla College's Friday night vespers, our eyes met across the foyer, and in that instant, everything changed. What began as love at first sight quickly became something deeper with each date—a connection that felt timeless, effortless, and undeniable. It was the purest love either of us had ever known, a feeling that has never faded from our hearts.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The moments that began our love are rivaled only by those that brought us together again. From singing praise music in a pitch-black tunnel beneath the university church to seeing each other again through a FaceTime call after a chance LinkedIn connection, the spark was unchanged—electric, pure, undeniable. Though doubt once led us apart, 23 years later the golden cord that bound our hearts was rekindled, as though it had never been broken. We celebrated our love in marriage last year, eloping.

What would you do with $20,000?

It may not sound romantic, but we'd use $20,000 to begin our second chance with lighter burdens and fuller hearts—freeing ourselves from debt and taking the honeymoon we never had. We'd escape somewhere remote and breathtaking, a place new to us both, where nature surrounds us and every sunrise, quiet trail, and shared moment becomes part of the love story we were finally meant to finish.
