He stopped me on a bridge on the way home from youth camp because my jacket had flown out of my car. He handed me my jacket and kissed my cheek. I followed him home. We went for a creek walk and he asked me if he could really kiss me. We had been such good friends, I was afraid it would be like kissing my brother! When it wasn't we both knew... two weeks later he asked me to marry him. And now 37 years later his kisses still make my knees weak.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?The births of our children, of course... but recently we took the trip of a lifetime. We had scratched and saved and went on a shoestring budget. We were in Scotland at Castle Doune listening to the headsets with Terry Jones narrating and we both turned at the same moment toward one another and were belly laughing so hard we cried! We ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the courtyard and leaned into one another, both amazed we were there. Our lives together have been a great adventure.
What would you do with $20,000?Pay off Eric's MFA student loan! And plan another trip to the Mediterranean this time. Our son was married in Barga Italy and we were not able to go. It has become a precious, sacred place for them - so that is a destination we would both like to experience with them.
