Eric and I are best friends. We went through getting married, having twins, being a surrogate for my sister, and still laugh together daily
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
Eric and I met at 18, our freshman year of college at Trenton State College in NJ. We were both computer science majors, became best friends. We dated for about 3 weeks freshman year, and I broke up with him because I thought he was too nice. We stayed best friends for years after, even going on vacations as couples with our partners. Finally, at 27, I realized I loved my best friend. I wrote him a letter telling him that, and luckily he felt the same way. That's when our forever began.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? There are too many to count. Our wedding day, our honeymoon, finding out we were pregnant with twins after IVF, then finding out we were pregnant with twins AGAIN as a surrogate for my sister. Every step of the way, we did it together, side by side. Our wedding day was a huge snowstorm. Eric got to the church with his groomsman and no one was there. He was freaking out and the priest said to him "You are here. Erica just got here. You have everyone you need". And he was right.
What would you do with $20,000?We have twins in college right now, so we are broke, quite literally. The responsible part of me says we would pay towards school or make some upgrades to our home. But since we honeymooned in Hawaii, we've promised the kids we would take them back one day, and renew our vows with them as part of the ceremony. So that's what we would do.
