Our story began a little unconventionally. Our first date started with an open house, my pants covered in drywall! From there, we walked the entire White Rock Pier, laughing and talking for hours. Then we headed to Crescent Beach & connected even more, never wanted the night to end. Our last stop was in Fraser Heights, bonding over our shared love for The Office. From that day on, we knew we had found something special.

Our favourite memory was standing beneath a sky full of glowing lanterns at the famous Yi Peng Festival in Thailand. It felt like we had stepped straight into the lantern scene from Disney’s Rapunzel. Ekam helped me light my lantern, and I watched him gently release it for me into the night sky. It was an emotional moment for me because, throughout our relationship, he’s always helped me through my hardest times and has never hesitated to lend me a helping hand.

If we won $20,000, we’d use it for two meaningful goals: helping us buy our first apartment together and giving back to the community. We’d donate a portion to the Jumpstart, where Simran volunteered and saw firsthand the difference it made for local children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to sports and extracurricular activities. Giving back has always been important to us and we’d finally be able to make a more significant impact.
