How did your love story begin?

Our love story began in college, where we sang together in the same music program. Interestingly, I actually knew Nicole’s dad before I knew her because I had traveled and sung with a group he led. What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is our honeymoon—what we jokingly call “the honeymoon from hell.” Everything that could go wrong did. We missed flights, lost money, dealt with travel chaos, and even got stuck in traffic on our first night. But instead of breaking us, it bonded us. In the middle of all the stress and chaos, we learned something powerful early in our marriage: no matter what we face, we face it together.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’ve been together 22 years, most of it spent serving others in ministry and education rather than building a lot of financial margin for ourselves. We often spent anniversaries at youth camps or serving our community instead of traveling. With $20,000, our dream would be simple: take time to finally enjoy each other and travel together. I want to show my wife the world—she’s the most beautiful woman I know, and she deserves to see the most beautiful places.
