Connect How did your love story begin?

We met at Calhouns on the River, where we both worked. Both as single parents, both endured very difficult pasts. We knew there was something beautiful, different, & rare about the way we felt about one another. We had experienced such hardship before one another, there was no doubt this was a gift from God, for us and our children. We have been married almost 10 years now and have 4 beautiful children. We are both in ministry and have seen the hand of the Lord on our lives in a mighty way.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory together is the moment we came to Christ as a married couple. In a small church, after great loss, we found hope, joy, peace, purpose, and a plan for our life that is greater than either of us could’ve ever imagined! Now, Derrick & I co-pastor Commissioned Couples. I co-pastor Commissioned Women’s Discipleship. Derrick works at our church and I work at a non-profit. We found the light together in Jesus. We found a heart for our community & service to those in need together.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would save the majority portion of $12,000 to go towards our future home. We are in need of a new home, as ours is old & in need of great repair. We would dedicate $6,000 to help our community brothers & sisters in need. The remainder would be spent to go away with our children for a time of refreshing ourselves & making memories with them before they leave the house for college.
