I was doing some part-time work with my singer songwriter friend, trying to help her get new shows out of DC, and being a pseudo tour manager. Deren had been in her band for many years and we knew each other, but once we were both going through a separation and divorce, we looked at each other differently. That’s where the acquaintance relationship shifted and the undeniable love story began…never did either of us think we’d fall I love as we both had very different perceptions of each other.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Jeni: A horseback ride on our 10th anniversary at sunset in Colorado & kissing Deren in the mountains. Deren: Jeni giving me a lap dance (she never usually dances at all, never mind stone sober) on the beach in Jamaica in her bathing suit in front of our entire tour group!
What would you do with $20,000?Jeni has been working to figure out how to start a PTSD Veteran (Deren is Ret USAF) & equine therapy/rescue program and I would love to have extra funds to put towards that. Deren : Haha, pay off my Jeep and buy a drum kit…Actually, put it towards a trip to Tuscany for our 20th (Italy had been on her bucket list for decades)
