Connect How did your love story begin?

Our story began with a simple Facebook message: “Remember me?” We had lived in the same apartment complex in 1986, both married to our first spouses. Then life took us in different directions, and Kent moved out of state. We never saw each other again. More than 25 years later, that one message changed everything. Sometimes the greatest love stories don’t begin at first sight—they begin when the timing is finally right.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories was spending Christmas giving instead of receiving. We bought granola bars, sweatshirts, beanies, gloves, dog food, and other essentials, wrapped them like gifts, and took some of our children and grandchildren to the streets where the homeless lived. Watching the joy on their faces—and making sure their dogs were cared for too—filled our hearts in a way we’ll never forget. It remains one of our greatest blessings.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, our dream would be to bring our entire blended family together for a week. Between our 6 children, their spouses, and 6 grandchildren, time together is rare. We’d rent a cozy cabin where we could laugh, play games, cook meals, tell stories, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Family is our greatest blessing, and this gift would give us something money can’t usually buy—unforgettable time together.
