Connect How did your love story begin?

Chelse fell for Dan’s long legs at a San Antonio math conference 11 years ago. Our morning walks were half a mile and full of chemistry—well, math. After three years of secretly crushing on one another and eight more years of building our lives together, Chelse finally proposed in an escape room, surrounded by our closest friends. Our wedding will be on 7/22/27 since 22/7 is pi’s goofy cousin.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Dan and Chelse love watching movies and bingeing shows, but not in the way you might think. A 20-minute episode can easily turn into an hour-long debate about the morality of the protagonist or what the director was really trying to say. One of our favorite memories was a Memorial Day staycation in McCall, Idaho, where we binged The Umbrella Academy—with a healthy number of “Can we pause and talk about this?” moments mixed in. Turns out our favorite part of any show is overanalyzing it together.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we suddenly had $20,000, our first step would be to hire a financial advisor to keep us from spending it all on board games. Although, let’s be honest, we’d still buy a few board games while we’re at it. ;-) Joking aside, Dan and I are growing our life emotionally, financially, and with spreadsheets galore. Investing $20,000 would give our future goals a head start and our budget sheets a little less sass.
