Connect How did your love story begin?

I (Jen) divorced in 2016 and took a welding workshop to explore other art avenues. I signed up to several dating sites to troll for someone who might have welding skills to continue teaching me. Damon, a metal sculptor, vintage collector and car aficionado popped up on my search. Damon has his own pace and it took 3 weeks to meet at his warehouse. We rode scooters, climbed a water tower, looked at nudies he found in a suitcase and of course toured his art studio. We’ve been together 10 years.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We’ve done a lot together in 10 years! We bought and remodeled a warehouse. We’ve traveled and bought classic cars. Jen even quit teaching after 30 years to open a business selling vintage items and our artwork. A documentary was even made of us on Tubi! But honestly, our favorite memories are laughing uncontrollably at 3AM and catching each other doing weird things when we think the other one isn’t looking.

What would you do with $20,000?

#1 Damon wrote a research paper in grade school about the Loch Ness Monster. He’s always wanted to go to Scotland and complete his “research”. It is a bucket list adventure. #2 Jen wants a gigantic fiberglass dinosaur for the front yard. #3 Our warehouse needs new siding. Black verticle to be specific. If anything is left, it’ll be for a rainy day. Or car parts.
