17 years later and he still is my favorite person :) We’ve grown up together and learned so much about ourselves through one another
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
A true enemies-to-lovers trope + high school sweethearts story, we met doing theatre in high school. At first, we didn't like each other, and had to dance a romantic duet together (yuck) but after a few more shows, we learned to appreciate each other's talents and interests. What began as friendship blossomed into yet another trope of best friends becoming more, and now 17 years later we have literally grown up together, and love growing older together.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Don Bluth officiated our wedding! We did a lot of shows at his community theatre in Arizona, and he became a great mentor and friend to us. When the time came to tie the knot, we had just finished a run of "It's a Wonderful Life" as George and Mary, so naturally we asked him if he would help us create a wonderful life together for real, and he graciously accepted. For our unity ceremony, he drew us as characters from the poem "The Owl and the Pussycat" because he said it reminded him of us :)
What would you do with $20,000?After nearly 2 decades together, we would love to finally be able to buy our first house! It would be put toward a down payment on a house so we could finally be homeowners and have space to keep growing our collection of critters of all kinds. Cord really wants a reptile room, and Caitlin would love to foster dogs for local dog rescues. Plus our two senior chihuahuas would love a yard to bask in the sun all day!
