Connect How did your love story begin?

After 15 years of single life, I found love. In 2008, I moved to my new apartment. I asked myself, "what would bring me joy." The answer was hiking! I joined a local hiking club. I always wanted to walk on the Appalachian Trail. On my first hike on the AT, the hike leader was my future husband and the love of my life, even though I did not know it that day. He called me every week for 2 months till I finally said yes to a date on 4th of July! We have not been separated since!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were on a camping trip in the Adirondack mts. We woke up one morning in the tent, and my then boyfriend, Dan, asked me, "if I ask you to marry me, would that be a good idea?" All I could say was, "yes". After that, everything felt different. That day felt different. I felt different. I knew that I had found my one true love and the rest of my life was going to be happy because he asked me. We both knew, this was it. We had finally found love.

What would you do with $20,000?

Since we will both be retired by 2027, we would use the money to travel to all the places we've been dreaming of going TOGETHER. We want to spend a month in Italy, taking cooking classes, drinking espresso, and eating fresh baked bread, pastries, and cheese. A dream we both want to experience. $20,000 would cover it all and make this experience possible. We have lived a full life, have a wonderful home but we have never been able to travel abroad. This would make the dream a reality.
