Connect How did your love story begin?

Chuck and I grew up together and his sister, Laura, was my best friend. Tragically, Laura was killed in a car accident in 1976, our Junior year of high school. Laura and my brother, Mike, found themselves innocently in the path of a high speed chase on their way home from a movie. Chuck, Mike and I were left to go on with our lives. In 2013 when Chuck and I were reunited, it was like I was looking at Chuck in the hallway of their family home and hearing him say, “See you in forty years.”

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have a lifetime of memories, but early in our relationship we traveled between three cities to be together. Chuck had a female black lab and I had a male white lab and they did not get along. Trying to separate two big labs in the cab of a truck was hysterical. My favorite memory is the night we sat on the front porch of our home at Twelve Oaks Farm and Chuck proposed. It took four years to find this beautiful place and create a home that would blend all of our family and loved ones.

What would you do with $20,000?

What an ironic question at this particular time. Last January on a very cold Saturday morning, a feral puppy showed up on our property. I named him Will Feral, and since he wasn’t in a hurry to go anywhere, he made his home with us. While it’s been challenging, Chuck and I are amazed at what we have been able to do with this sweet feral guy. To keep Will safe here on our property, the next project is to fence in part of our very large yard. My estimate was $20,000.00. We’re doing this for Will.
