Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story began at a bar. We both were standing there and I asked to bartender to introduce me to that man. And we literally talked for hours till the sun came up and were nearly inseparable! It was at a time when responsibility seemed lost on us both but we endured, we grew up together and matured and here we are, 40 years later...and still inseparable!!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory is when my husband came home and announced he had enlisted in the Air Force! We never even talked about it! But I was an Air Force brat and had talked about the wonderful life my father had given us as a member of the Air Force. My husband knew that the life we were living with our toddler was not something that would award us a future without crippling debt and probably never owning a home. But his enlisting changed our lives!! From barely making it to really killing it!!

What would you do with $20,000?

With the money we would use some to pay off some upgrades we had to do to our 100 yr old house and things to make my hubby more comfortable. We might even take a long weekend vacation to Ohio, where our family is so we can catch up with everyone that we miss dearly!! The Air Force landed us in North Dakota so we don't see family often. We've always wanted a nice patio on our house so that might be something we'd do. A nice patio with a couple rocking chairs!!
