Connect How did your love story begin?

We became friends while working together in a Theatre Troupe in OKC. We started dating about two years after that when I realized that he also had a crush on me, and I should stop trying to set him up with my best friend to keep him around. We broke up nine months later because we were young and scared of commitment, but we’ve shown up for each other over the past 16 years whether we happened to be together or apart. This time around we are very different people from when we first started.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were in a production of Love’s Labour’s Lost together in 2013, I was playing Katherine and he was playing Longaville, and in the masquerade scene where the men switch partners to play a trick on the ladies, he and I got to smooch under an umbrella onstage. It was such a beautiful time of our lives and such a sweet experience.

What would you do with $20,000?

We decided that if we were to win $20,000 we would split it in half and put $10,000 towards something practical that would close the physical distance between us, as I live in Los Angeles and he lives in Oklahoma, and we would put the remaining $10,000 into a trust to fund micro ventures. In the Theatre world, $500-$2000 can mean the difference between a nice idea and a successful production. We’d love to be able to give back to the community that helped blossom our story in that way.
