Connect How did your love story begin?

Back in college we met at a party where I obnoxiously made a spectacle of my now husband. To say it was shear hatred at first sight (on his part) would be an understatement. But persistence paid off and talking until 3am as he walked me to my dorm let’s just say…. We never looked back. Sometimes in life you just know you’re meant to be ,even if it’s just one of you.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I’d love to say the birth of our children but two years ago there was a farm accident where our dairy bull attacked Paul. He broke every rib in his body. Had 85 pins and 5 plates put in him on Valentines Day. However, the bull saved his life as they found cancer which would have gone undetected. Paul had some serious setbacks over the next few months but I think our favorite memory was the day we noticed life was back to normal. And hearing he was cancer free.

What would you do with $20,000?

Oh geez what would we do with 20000 dollars? After 42 years of marriage we have quite a bucket list. In recent years our family farm has diversified making it possible for us to travel. For many years we were not able to go too far. I think we would start by visiting the pacific west coast. There’s so many places in our beautiful country to see I think we would start there. As lifelong farmers we are drawn to the natural world seeing it up close would be a dream come true.
