Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story began in Mali while I was attending medical school. I met a young American soldier, and what started as friendship slowly became something deeper. We came from different worlds, spoke different first languages, and had very different backgrounds, but we shared the same values of faith, family, and commitment. Through life’s unexpected challenges, he kept showing up, and I learned that real love is not just words, it’s keeping your promises.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory was returning to Cameroon together to bring my sister’s 4 children home. We walked through the places that shaped my childhood, and Jake embraced not only my story but my family as well. Watching him love the people I loved, and later seeing all of our 8 children together under one roof, showed us what true love looks like. It wasn’t just about us anymore; it was about building a family and changing lives together

What would you do with $20,000?

We crossed oceans to build our family, and four of our children came to us through adoption after the loss of their mother. Some of them have never been to Disney World. We would use part of the $20,000 to give all eight of our children a trip filled with joy, laughter, and memories they will carry forever. The remaining funds would help support their education and our mission of encouraging families through faith, love, and perseverance. For us, family experiences are worth more than anything.
