We began as neighbors. At first we were just friends, but on New Year’s Eve Maryssa decided to be brave and kiss me. I was happily surprised because I didn’t know she felt that way toward me. Thereafter our love blossomed. Any free time we had, we spent together. Learning more about each other and falling more in love with one another each passing day. Everything felt easy when we were together, and still does.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We planned a trip to travel to Paris and Italy for the first time. I, Brittany, proposed to Maryssa at the Medici Fountain and the photographer I hired captured the moment. I set up a tripod to film the moment, but as soon as I went down on one knee, it fell over. I quickly ran to fix it and finished popping the question. She thankfully said, “yes”! It was a perfectly imperfect moment.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use the money to invest in our future family. As a same sex couple, we can’t have children the traditional way and IVF is very expensive. This would allow us to continue saving for a house and start the process of making a new addition to our family.
