We met on the Fourth of July, at a bar in Idaho. Brian had Pop-Its, which we were throwing behind the bar. After a while, the bartender finally figured out who had been tossing them while his back was turned—and got his revenge by spraying Brian in the face with Mountain Dew. We laughed from the moment we met, and we still do. Today, we live on his family’s alfalfa farm, are renovating a 90-year-old farmhouse, and making our garden dreams come true.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We travel flying standby often. Have walked 100 miles together in Spain. Our favorite trip was probably to Kenya’s Masai Mara. But our favorite travel story started at the Denver airport when we were trying to fly to Costa Rica to meet friends. All seats filled, so I noticed a flight to Narita two gates down. “Want to fly to Japan instead?” I asked. And 12 hours later we were eating sushi, ramen, and exploring Tokyo. We flew home through Chicago—just in time to catch 2 Cubs games.
What would you do with $20,000?If we won $20,000, we would invest it in a business we could build together—combining Brian's handcrafted leatherwork with my photography and fine art prints.
