We went to the same church and first met when she was in 5th grade and I was in 8th. We were in youth group together as friends, with our relationship transitioning when we were both in high school. Friends from church felt we belonged together and arranged for me to give the three of them a ride home from youth. They arranged it so that she would sit up front with me and would be the last to be dropped off. All that maneuvering led to our first kiss on Sept 11, 1974. We were 14 and 17.
