When we were sophomores in high school, Bill ask me out for a date…I thought he was a hood and didn’t date bad boys so I declined. He said I’m not a hood, I’m just poor! He was persistent and wore my concerns down. Our first date was to see WW and the Dixie Dance Kings. I was sitting with my Aunt Francis when she asked “When are you going to marry that Davis boy?” She saw something in him I hadn’t seen yet. We dated through high school and married 8 months after graduation.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We have so many precious memories after dating for 3 years & married nearly 50 years. One memory that tugs our hearts, is when we were on our first Caribbean Cruise. We were both raised in families that were not well off, so we were not travelers. We were standing on the deck of the ship, in the moonlight, stars shining brightly above us and Bill asked “Did you ever think we would ever get to do something like this? I replied “NEVER .” We continue to enjoy cruising and each other.
What would you do with $20,000?There is so much that can be done with $20,000! Home improvement, 5 grandkids, church, charities, or traveling. That being said, it is difficult to know exactly what we would do with this gift!
