We got to grow up together and share all our major life landmarks as a team.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ben & Mara in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met as kids at Sunday School. Ben was a good friend of my brother and was “off limits”… but after years of crushing, volunteering at Church together, cheering each other on in Track and xc through High School, Ben finally asked Mara to Junior Prom. The rest is history!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?During COVID, both of us got sent home from our freshmen year of college. We had been long distance for the first half of the year and it SUCKED. Then we got to spend a long Summer together at home (the Summer of our lives). Ben spent this time training me to become a sprinter in hopes of joining my college team. He was dedicated and pushed me outside my comfort zone. Sophomore year I made the team! We got to see each other at meets making being long distance a lot easier.
What would you do with $20,000?We would get MARRIED!! It’s been 8 wonderful and challenging years of Mara and Ben. We started dating so young and did 4 years of long distance through college. (He went to school in Grand Forks and I was in St. Paul). We are now ready for the next step and would use the $20k to celebrate our love with all our friends and family.
