How did your love story begin?

Our story began at my sister’s wedding to Scott’s cousin—a weekend that changed our lives forever. I was a single mom from the Chicago suburbs, and Scott was serving in the Air Force in Oklahoma City after a previous marriage. Neither of us expected to meet the person we would spend the rest of our lives with. What began as a fun wedding weekend became an undeniable connection, a long-distance romance, and the start of a love story that’s still being written 32 years later.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

There are so many special memories, but this one will always stay with me. Just a week before our 32nd anniversary, we were at a community event when Scott quietly asked a friend to stand behind him so he could safely dance with me. I had no idea what was happening until our wedding song began to play. We held each other and danced, surrounded by friends. Huntington’s disease may have changed how we dance, but it will never change why we dance—or the love that has carried us for 32 years.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we’re blessed to win the $20,000, we’d take the dream vacation we’ve always dreamed of while Scott is still able to fully enjoy it. Huntington’s disease has taught us that time is life’s greatest gift. We’d spend every moment making memories, watching sunsets, holding hands, laughing, and celebrating 32 years of love. One day the memories will be all I have, and this trip would give us moments I’d treasure in my heart forever.
