Connect How did your love story begin?

I remember it like it was yesterday — finals week of our freshman year. While we were supposed to be studying, a little convincing from my roommate’s friend led to an unexpected visit from Will. Somewhere between the laughter, conversation, and a few songs he played for us on his guitar, something just clicked. Before the night was over, we exchanged phone numbers. A few scoops of ice cream later, we became inseparable. Who knew a simple study break would turn into the beginning of forever.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

When Will proposed, he took me back to where it all began — the restaurant where he first asked me to be his girlfriend, followed by our favorite antique store. Among the records, he had sneakily placed a custom album that read “Mr. & Mrs. Buskirk” featuring all of the songs that tell our story. Surrounded by memories and music, he asked me to spend forever with him. How could I say no?

What would you do with $20,000?

$20,000 would help us create a strong foundation as we begin this new chapter as husband and wife. This year started off a little differently than we imagined as I began cancer treatment at St. Jude. Through every challenge, Will has been by my side, and this support would allow us to focus on healing, celebrating our marriage, and building our future together with a little more peace of mind.
