How did your love story begin?

We met in New York City in 1976 shortly after we had both moved there. We both had a crush on each other, but it was nine years before we became a couple. Our first date was on New Year's day in 1983 when we went to see the Big Apple Circus. We were never apart after that. From the moment we met, we began working on creative projects together and we have never stopped. We have so much fun together.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Since 2012, we have worked together on Behold The Man Opera. It has been life changing, creative and challenging. It is a story of faith and love and mirrors our own philosophy that persistence and faith will win out. We have been to Spain five times to meet with our protagonist in the opera and have become a part of her family. We have had several performances and a world premiere at Opera Las Vegas in 2023. It has been the adventure of a lifetime and a thrill to see it come to fruition.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would donate half of the money to Oceana. We live at the shore in New Jersey and the ocean and its health is a vital part of our lives. We believe being stewards of our planet is most important. The other half of the money would go to transforming our opera into a Broadway musical. We believe we could reach a broader audience this way. The music is beautiful and the message is universal. A disaster can become a miracle when you have the faith to believe.
