Our “love story” didn’t begin as a love story per se, it started as a connection and friendship that was unexplainably strong. Baebert had graduated college the year before I (Waffles) attended the same college. Baebert was a sweetheart in a local sorority ZXE and I joined my freshman year. Through the sorority we met and became unexpectedly close friends very quickly even though we lived 13 hours apart and never attended school together. We were best friends a full year before we began dating!

My favorite memory as a couple has to be how we ended up with our pet names and how they’ve stuck so much even our friends refer to us as Baebert and Waffles. Let’s go back to 2016 when we started dating and were just D & Michele “bae” was THE pet name at the time and felt very informal, Bae is to Baebert as Rob is to Robert! Waffles started out as D calling Michele “lovely” which became “lawfully” which became “waffley” which ended up as “Waffles”! It’s now been 10 years of Baebert and Waffles!

With $20,000 we would pay off any debt we have, likely put aside a savings for any emergencies our beautiful grey girls (our pup and cat cat) may have. And put the rest towards the down payment on a home in our fav city ever, Philadelphia! (GO BIRDS)
