Connect How did your love story begin?

Sebastian opened the door to a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2005 when we were both studying at FIU and literally said the words: “You look like you’re fun” to me. And that was that. The joke is I gave my car keys to my friends and left with him, invited him to see the band The Killers with me in Tampa, had long conversations on the balcony where the party was held, and it became a “one life stand” for us after that fateful day in July of 2005. We have been together since.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Apparently me running around Gulfstream Park in circles where they show off the horses before a race when Spain won the World Cup, and having other random people join in, is his. I concur. It was funny and these are normal daily occurrences in our life as a couple. We just have fun and go with the flow. Also, he was the viral Hollywood, Florida man that was in the news, including “The Miami Herald,” for wearing an inflatable T-Rex costume to shop at Target in 2020. That’s proof right there!

What would you do with $20,000?

We would like to save some of it for future trips and to use it for experiences with friends and family as well. After recently losing my dad to cancer in October of 2025 and his mom a few years ago as well, it’s been decided that we need to live our lives every day as if it’s the last. Simple quote, but very real. Live, love, be kind and celebrate the every day moments that make us human and give us joy.
