Best friends for Life
We would like to thank you for supporting Ashley and Shawn in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Shawn and I grew up in the rolling farm country of Southwest Iowa. Although he was from Greenfield and I was from Fontanelle, our lives intersected early through family, farming, 4-H, and showing hogs. We attended school together at Nodaway Valley, and over the years a friendship took root that neither of us could have imagine.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our first kiss wasn't just a kiss. It was the moment a lifetime of friendship transformed into something neither of us had fully imagined. After years of knowing each other, trusting each other, and sharing pieces of our lives, time seemed to stand still. It felt familiar and exciting all at once—as if my heart had finally caught up to something it had known for years.
What would you do with $20,000?Shawn and I were both shaped by our farm upbringing and our experiences in 4-H. Those organizations taught us responsibility, hard work, leadership, and community service. They helped make us the people we are today. We would donate it to local 4-H groups in our communities, helping young people have the same opportunities that influenced our lives so profoundly.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America's Favorite Couple, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
