We met in an unlikely place — jail. But as coworkers. I was a correctional counselor and he was an officer. We didn’t click instantly but once we actually spoke neither one of us ever stopped. We tried to keep it secret at first but moved in together within the first three months. That was five years ago and we get married this October.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Every year we try to outdo each other for our birthdays. Two years ago he surprised me with a rather large secret birthday dinner. He’d contacted friends I’d barely seen in years. I was blown away by some who were present. But mostly I remember looking at him looking at me. He looked so genuinely happy that I was so happy. A lot of our best memories aren’t necessarily grand. They’re just moments of being happy for each other and with each other.
What would you do with $20,000?Pay off our wedding, take a honey moon and add the rest to our savings for a down payment on our first home.
