How did your love story begin?

December 1, 2019, I received a Friend Request from Robin on Facebook. We had no contact for almost 40 years since she finished the 9th grade and I entered the financial services industry. We chatted for about 15 minutes catching up on history of the 4 decades. I retired at age 62 & moved to Honduras May 2018. Robin asked, “Do you ever return to the States?” I replied, “As a matter of fact, I am on a plane in 4 days to spend Christmas with family.” “Why don’t you drive up and let’s have coffee.”

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

November 28, 2020, when I proposed and we promised each other that we would continue to be 100% honest with each other, never conceal truth, and never lie about any question asked. We never have to remember what we said because it’s always the truth. We both have lived with less than 100% honesty and that doesn’t work. We have been married 5 1/2 years and our love continues to grow. This marriage goes into eternity.

What would you do with $20,000?

During our first 4 years of marriage, we were worth no more than $400,000 including our home. Over that time, we paid for food, shelter, medical needs, education, and other necessities for more than a dozen families in Honduras. With this $20,000, we would combine it with our own funds to buy a house for a wonderful young couple and their child there. Currently, the three of them live in a one bedroom apartment with rent of 3,500 Lempiras ($130 USD per month).
