Our story began because he was avoiding an ex at my workplace. He and I had mutual friends, went out as a group, and everyone ditched us—leaving just the two of us. We knew. Within a month we were living together, and six weeks later we were married. For 25+ years we’ve kept choosing each other through three cross-country moves, our son’s battle with addiction, a Stage IV cancer diagnosis, and every challenge life has thrown our way.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is the four-week European adventure we took after using his retirement to make the trip happen. Every winding mountain road, long car conversations, Stonehenge at dawn, the Eiffel Tower glowing at night, and standing hand in hand in awe at Snowdon Pass reminded us that memories are life’s greatest treasure. Those moments will stay with us forever. We’d love to create those same memories with our adult children, too.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d spend the $20,000 creating unforgettable memories with our family. Our recent four-week journey showed us that the greatest souvenirs aren’t things—they’re the moments we share. This time we’d bring our kids, explore new places together, and celebrate every day we have. Life and a stage four cancer diagnosis has taught us that time is precious, and memories are the richest gift we can leave each other.
