We were on a facebook group for widows and widowers and we both planned to attend a widows getaway. I was hosting an e-bike tour and I messaged Melissa, out of the blue, to see if she was interested in joining the ride. She responded quickly and we continued to message throughout the day, then weeks, with FaceTime, then monthly visits, and were engaged by the time the trip came about.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?A month after we started talking I took a trip from AZ to FL. We had a friend who had been talking to someone for a year but never met as they were 5 hours apart. I said “If we were 5 hours apart I’d see you in 6.” I landed in FL and messaged that we were in the same time zone and 10 hours apart. Mel is from NC. I said Savannah is 5 hours away. We each drove and met there 6 hours later to meet for the first time and first date that lasted 24 hours and left committed to each other.
What would you do with $20,000?We would take a blended family vacation, with our kids, our siblings, and our parents on a cruise, or to an island resort and get married on a beach at sunset.
