A Nepali and a Bangladeshi who crossed borders and religion, choosing love and respect everyday, to build their American dream.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
Our story began at UConn, where we became friends first. Over time, between group trips, late-night hangouts, and shared adventures, we turned into something more. But fear took over, different religions, long distance, and worry our families would never accept it, and we decided to part ways. Just a few days before I graduated and moved to California, he showed up at my door at midnight. We cried, we talked, and realized walking away wasn’t an option. We chose love. We chose each other.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We’ve built a happy life rooted in compassion, success, fun, and travel. But the most meaningful moment wasn’t a destination, it was our wedding, when our families finally came together in one place. After navigating cultural and religious differences, and the effort it took to bring everyone on board, seeing our families together, happy and celebrating as one, felt incredibly special. It wasn’t just a wedding. It was proof that love can bridge any divide.
What would you do with $20,000?If we won $20k, we’d spend a month wandering Alaska together, no rush and no agenda. A short cruise through the glaciers, quiet days in its national parks, wildlife sightings, and the aurora dancing above remote northern towns that feel like the edge of the world. We crave moments that feel vast and unreal, the kind that remind you why you fell in love. This would be our chance to slow down, disconnect from routine, and simply exist, fully present, together.
