A common friend introduced us online. Adrian had just re-enlisted in the Marines & was getting ready for deployment to Iraq. I was in the Philippines. For 4 years, we emailed each other in the morning, at lunch & before heading to bed. Sometimes, we got lucky & we'd be online at the same time (time zone difference) so more time to talk. LDR was hard, but it established trust, faith & open communication because all we could really do was talk whether we were happy or angry with each other.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Probably the first time we saw each other in person - because Adrian thought I was hiding from him at the airport, but I was really trying to get in a better spot to see him. Also, because it was the first time we held hands & literally just hugged while we talked about us & the future. We fell asleep talking to each other.
What would you do with $20,000?Probably save some, but use some to take a trip with our kids to the Philippines so we could spend time with my mom. The last time she saw Adrian & Memphis (our son) in person was in 2018 so it has been a while. Also, it's more fun traveling with the kids since they're older now.
