How did your love story begin?

We met at community college, while attending a philosophy class together, during a winter term in 1997. Just out of high school, being as awkward as awkward gets, but with a little bit of false confidence and whole lot if innocent persistence, Aaron convinced Melissa to go on a date. That first date was a memorable dinner at an Oregon coast restaurant. It was a great experience at a nice resturant with a view, followed by several hours of talking, while watching the ocean and stars.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have shared many memorable days together and would not change them for anything. Wedding day is an easy one to say, as we chose a fall wedding in Oregon at a historic location. Could also say it was our first trip to Disneyland together and staying at the Grand Californian hotel. Or our first trip to Disney World in Florida and swimming with dolphins. However, it really is that first date we had together. The first time getting to know each other, witnessed by the ocean and stars.

What would you do with $20,000?

October of 2026 is our 25th wedding anniversary. We would likely continue with our current plans to go on a Halloween Disney cruise, but would add a few more destination stops at Disneyworld. Likely invest in few more appropriately themed outfits to wear on the trip as well for the Halloween season...
