Ira will tell you he’s loved me since 7th grade when the lightning bolt hit. We’re 61 years old, and have been married 4 years this Friday.
We would like to thank you for supporting "Ira and Christine" or "Team Meinhofer" in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Ira had been searching for me over the years since high school. I was “off the grid,” until a girls weekend. My friends who were tired of my missing out on life, took my phone, and signed me onto Facebook. Ira found me within 14 hrs. We talked by text for 3 months. Ira flew to CA from Chicago, IL just to have one date with me. We spent the afternoon together in San Francisco having lunch and going to a photo show. He played the perfect gentleman. I kissed him first. We haven’t been apart since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We were set for an ABA conference in CA in March 2020, Ira flew in from Chicago. When picking him up, we received the message that the event was shut down, as was everything else - Covid hit. Ira stayed for a week then flew home. A few days later he phoned me saying “If we’re going down, we’re going down together.” He flew back and we spent the next three months in an 18x22 cottage together. We worked by internet, listened to music, visited friends/family by Zoom, and learned to make Naan.
What would you do with $20,000?On one hand I would like to put a small dent in our student loans. On the other hand, we both had new jobs when we married, and didn’t have a chance to take a honeymoon, so it would be wonderful to take a honeymoon cruise!
