Connect How did your love story begin?

I met yusuf back in August of 2021 when he was a block staff member and I was a counselor for the summer camp. However I was also a current member of the block (after school program) because I was still eligible since I was still 17. He was 19 at the time. There wasn’t a physical connection but definitely flirting. Obviously rules were followed as he could’ve lost his job and I could’ve got kicked out. Neither of which I wanted to happen. That doesn’t mean I gave up on him though.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The moment he asked me to be his girlfriend definitely sticks with me the most. We had dinner and went on a nice long romantic walk under the highway. After that he told me how much he appreciated who I was as a human being, the type of wife and mother I wanna be as we continue to pursue a future together, how attentive I am to his emotional and physical needs. And that in spite of the constant battle I have with his family because I’m not of the same race or religion I choose to love him anyway

What would you do with $20,000?

My dad passed when I was just 15 years old. I love my mom but she has the mindset of some parents where she doesn’t feel that I have the right to have her help me because I’m over 18. Yeah I still live with her which is a blessing but to what extent. My mental state. The goal is freedom. I wanna create a path for myself and for my future family that sparks what my family should’ve done from the beginning. Create a legacy. I wanna get Yusuf out too. Because I need him; and he needs me too.
