We wed in our early 50’s & each of us had been in abusive marriages. We worked through the old hurts together & are stronger than ever now!
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
We met playing sand volleyball in a church league. During that summer, we went out a few times but neither of us thought the other was interested. Fast forward 10 years, we reconnected through Brian’s SIL, with whom Vera worked. After a few dates, we were talking more seriously, and that Christmas Brian proposed in front of his entire family; mom, seven siblings and their spouses, and his four children. Of course, Vera had to say “yes!” One year later we got married on the beach in Jamaica.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Of all of the wonderful memories we’ve shared through our 15 wedded years; getting married on the beach in Jamaica, seeing grandchildren born, traveling to several foreign countries and to many popular USA destinations, and enjoying a couple of cruises, our favorite memory is simply doing it all together! We laugh with each other and we love exploring new places. Everywhere we go and everything we do is better because we’re each sharing it with our best friend. The journey is so sweet together.
What would you do with $20,000?Our condo definitely needs some upgrades. We would get all new appliances, new flooring, and pay someone to paint the walls. Well, at least we would try to do all of that, but we might end up painting ourselves.
