Connect How did your love story begin?

My husband and I met in eighth grade but when we started the same job over the summer before ninth grade is when we really got close. We worked for Luray Caverns, an underground cave in Virginia. We became close fast, he would leave me milkshakes in our work freezer and little gifts in my locker. We separated at the time because of how young we were and our parents conflicting, however we remained best friends and got closer and closer as time went on! Now here we are😊

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory is when my husband was stationed over seas in turkey. (crazy, right?) Even with the distance, we always found ways to keep each other involved. We would play video games, FaceTime often during meals and fun events, we’d even sleep over face time to be able to wake up “next to each other”. We always found ways to include each other no matter how far apart we were. And the in person visits during those periods were even more special.

What would you do with $20,000?

With 20,000 the first thing we would do is donate to melanoma research. My husbands dad passed away from Melanoma when he was young, and contributing to the research to fight the illness would bring joy to our hearts. With the rest, we would put a down payment down towards a new home, closer to our family. We left our home, Virginia, after we finished in the military. We moved to Minnesota and we love it here so much, but we miss our family and we would love to buy a home in a state closer.
