Travis and I have been married 23 years with 3 wonderful children! He’s my best friend and I his! We love the Lord, family and time together
We would like to thank you for supporting Travis and Darla Buice in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our story began in July 2000, crossing paths at parties but were dating other people. A year later, at a bachelorette party, I was feeling uneasy when I looked up and saw Travis—he came to my rescue. I asked him to be my date to the wedding the next day. That night felt like fate—we danced, laughed, and caught the bouquet and garter. Our first real date was the next day July 8, 2001, we saw a movie, and I knew he was the one. He proposed that September 2001, and we married on January 1, 2002.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Britney Spears is my favorite, and I’d dreamed of seeing her for years. Travis surprised me with tickets to her Vegas show and even cleared it with my job. I flew solo, but two friends showed up at the airport to join me—such a surprise! When I got to Vegas, my childhood best friend and her husband were there too. Wonderful surprise! The next night, Britney pulled Travis on stage. It was an unforgettable night and one of the best of my life.
What would you do with $20,000?If we won $20,000, we’d give 10% to our church—gotta keep the good karma flowing! We just took our kids on a cruise, so we’d probably pack them up for another adventure (because sleep is overrated). The rest would go into savings or toward bills—because adulthood is expensive and apparently “fun money” means paying for new tires.
