Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in high school. I was the girl sitting behind him in history class. Over the year we became best friends. I told him that we were going to get married one day which is crazy because he said he didn’t want to date. We said “I love you” before we were even dating because we grew a solid friendship/ relationship with each other before our romantic relationship began. We had many late night dives talking about what we wanted out of life and all the places we wanted to travel.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were driving to a concert in Cali and the gps took us through a campsite and told us to continue on. We were about 1hr from the event, or so we thought. The paved road soon turned to a narrow 1 way dirt road, we had to get out and push our car because we kept getting stuck. The last 1hr of our trip turned into 5hrs on this crazy road. The whole way we were jamming to music, cracking jokes and laughing at the absurdity of the situation. This “setback” turned into a day we could never forget.

What would you do with $20,000?

With this prize we would have an intimate wedding ceremony with our family and close friends. My husband’s father wasn’t in his life at the time and his mother was going through mental health issues. Neither of his parents attended our wedding. We would renew our vows in Hawaii and this time we would have our family with us. This memory would last a lifetime and would mean so much to now have the support from family and the funds to have the ceremony we wish we could’ve had.
