How did your love story begin?

A friend of mine decided that we would make a good couple. So every time he was hanging out – trying to get her attention – she arranged things for us to hang out. We had great conversations and developed a strong friendship and from there love grew.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We both love traveling and experiencing other cultures, people, and countries. It is so hard to choose just one experience memory. However, my favorite memory is our trip to Ireland. One evening at dinner at an elegant Irish restaurant,, Tom gave me a heart necklace, which he had had engraved: “Half my life, all my love.“

What would you do with $20,000?

The cost of living in California, especially housing prices, is outrageously expensive. We are fortunate to have inherited my parent’s home because our grown children are all living with us. (Even with decent jobs, they can’t afford a place on their own.) Our daughter is expecting our first grandchild, so we would put the money toward an ADU for her, and her husband, and the new baby.
